Who Do You Think You Are? Live 2009 took place at London’s Olympia from 27th February to 1st March. It was a huge success with over 12, 000 visitors attending over the three days, making it the largest gathering of family historians in the UK. Our stand was located in the societies section of the exhibition hall. Mary Sullivan and Concepta McGovern from Cavan Genealogy, Feargal O’Donnell, Armagh Ancestry and Karel Kiely, Kildare Genealogy, manned the stand. Feargal gave a talk on 1922, What Really Blew Up which was very well attended and brought a lot of people to our stand.
We were inundated with queries every day with Saturday being a particularly busy day. Many people had already used the website but there were also a lot of people just starting out on their Irish family history. We had three computers this year with internet access which allowed us to get through a lot more work.
